Terms & Conditions

Admission

Management reserves the right to refuse or revoke entry on health & safety, licensing, or ticketing grounds. Ticket holders refused entry or ejected due to their own behaviour will not be entitled to a refund. You may be asked to show your ticket and/or ID at any point during an event. It is your responsibility to ensure you are eligible to attend.

Searching

Searching is a condition of entry. We may search your body, clothing, bags, and belongings as we consider reasonably necessary for the safety of all guests.

Prohibited Items

Personal drinks, illegal substances, and laser pens are not permitted in the venue. Any such items will be confiscated and not returned. Smoking is prohibited throughout the venue in accordance with the law.

Behaviour

We operate a zero-tolerance policy toward abusive, threatening, or aggressive behaviour directed at staff or other guests. Any such incidents will be investigated and appropriate action taken, including removal from the premises. Discrimination of any kind — including on the grounds of race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age — will not be tolerated. If you witness intimidating or threatening behaviour, please speak to any member of staff immediately.

Your Belongings

You are responsible for the safeguarding of your personal belongings whilst at Athena. Athena accepts no liability for property that is lost, stolen, or damaged on the premises. Items left with stewards prior to entry are left entirely at your own risk.

Accessibility

Registered guide dogs are always welcome.

CCTV

CCTV is in operation throughout the premises for the purposes of crime prevention and detection.

Photography & Filming

Personal photography and filming for private use is generally permitted at Athena, unless otherwise stated for a specific event. Professional photography, videography, or the use of specialist equipment (including detachable lenses, tripods, or recording devices) is not permitted without prior written consent from Athena management.

Flash photography must not be used during live performances. Athena reserves the right to request the deletion of any footage or images taken in breach of these conditions.

Re-Entry

Re-entry to the venue is subject to the policy of the individual event. Please check the details of your specific event before attending. Where re-entry is permitted, standard entry conditions — including searching — will apply on each occasion.

Age Restrictions

Guests aged 14 and over are welcome at Athena, provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Children under 14 may be admitted at the discretion of management for specific family-friendly events.

Some events are designated as 18+ only. This will be clearly indicated at the point of ticket purchase. Valid photographic ID will be required for entry to all 18+ events. It is the ticket holder's responsibility to check the age restriction of any event before purchasing.

Lost Property

Lost property found on the premises will be held securely at Athena for 7 days from the date it was found. Items not collected within this period will be disposed of or donated to charity at our discretion.

To enquire about lost property, please contact us at contact@athenacb.co.uk or call 0116 262 6556. Athena accepts no liability for any lost, unclaimed, or disposed-of items.

Allergen Statement

Due to the nature of our operation, allergen cross-contamination may occur at various stages of preparation. No dish can therefore be guaranteed to be completely free of allergens.

We are committed to catering for all dietary requirements. Please inform your server or a member of staff of any dietary needs before ordering. Athena staff must be made aware of all necessary dietary accommodations in advance.

Athena cannot be held liable for any allergic reaction, illness, or injury resulting from the wrongful or undisclosed consumption of any food. Use of our menu constitutes acceptance of these terms.

Lighting, Sound & Special Effects

Events at Athena may feature lasers, strobe and flashing lighting, smoke or haze effects, and other special effects. Music and sound levels may be high during performances and DJ sets — ear protection is recommended for those with hearing sensitivity.

If you have a medical condition, photosensitivity, epilepsy, or any sensitivity to flashing lights, laser effects, or loud sound, please consider this carefully before entering or speak to a member of staff.

By entering the venue, you acknowledge and accept these conditions. Entry is at your own risk. Athena, its staff, management, and agents cannot be held responsible for any adverse reaction, hearing damage, or other injury arising from exposure to these effects.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to, or remove from the premises, any person whose condition or behaviour we reasonably believe may pose a risk to themselves or others.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

For any queries regarding these terms, please contact us at contact@athenacb.co.uk or call 0116 262 6556.
